I love simulations! I wish I was more experienced in creating them. Luckily, lots of other teachers are super-creative and share their resources! This simulation is an incredibly fun way for students to understand the taxes that lead to the American Revolution.
In math class, I spent the week reviewing and enriching/intervening. I used students STAR data to assign topics on Khan Academy. I pulled small groups of students that worked on other topics that needed mastered. Some students had a choice of completing CSI investigations about either decimal computation or expressions. The kids had fun acting like "detectives."
We finished our first round of Genius Hour this week. Students presented to their peers about a topic they researched. As you scroll through the pictures, notice all the different ways the students presented! I was so impressed with the creativity shown by the fifth graders! The kids (and teachers) learned so many new things!
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
