We transitioned from Multiplying Fractions to Dividing Fractions. Of all the models that I teach, these tend to be my favorites. I really like number lines, but also showed students fraction strip models and box models as well.
Brandon helped the class transition from models to computation using the method "Keep, Change, Flip."
I am the Lead Teacher on The Literacy Lounge Project at STEM Middle. At the end of last year, my principal and I decided we needed a 21st Century Library. I recruited a few friends, teachers, and students and we spent our summer creating the space. As of today, we have spent less than $700 on the room. Thanks to recent donations from La-Z-boy furniture, The Rotary Club, and Cotner Funeral Home, we can continue with improvements. We are hoping to install a self-checkout station, add carpet on the stage, hang student artwork, and buy some high-top tables to place around the stage. In the future, we would like to change the flooring, the doors, and the lighting. Want to get involved? Send me an email at email@example.com. We would love your help!
