We have chicks! Our Environmental Science Classes have been studying the life cycle of the chicks. I was lucky enough to see the chicks emerge from their eggs!
Check out this awesome time lapse video one of the Fifth Graders made (and yes, that's my blonde head in the video):
We also hosted our Showcase Night. Parents, students, and community members came to the school to view all the student work from the past quarter. Below are some of the displays I created:
We also hosted an Open House for the incoming 4th Graders. I wanted to give the kids a taste of STEM, so I found this activity online and modified it to make it more "STEM-y." Even after working through the lesson with the other teachers, I wasn't confident in the activity, particularly the math part.
I decided to have my students rotate around in stations and have the "Pack Your Wagon" activity as one of the stations. I explained to my students the goal of this activity and requested feedback.
Based on the students' super-thoughtful feedback, I was able to adjust the activity for Open House and it was a great success! Thank you Fifth Graders for being great leaders!
Here are pictures of the 4th Graders completing the same activity:
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
