I am SOOOO super excited about my classroom environment this year! I was going for a "treehouse" feel, but it makes me think more of "Wonderland!" Either way, I like it!
This is part of my silent work nook/RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) Tree. I glued/taped real tree branches to the wall! Each time a student receives a random act of kindness or does a random act of kindness, he/she gets to put a leaf on our tree! Opposite the chair, I have a leather couch that I got for free!
I like so many things about these tables! First, they are on wheels so students can easily regroup as needed. Second, I painted the tops with three coats of dry-erase paint...and it worked! I was nervous because I had a failed attempt at this a few years ago, but priming and painting three thick coats did the trick! Now my students can work out problems without wasting paper!
As I was putting the finishing touches on my classroom, I had chairs instead of these stools. I was concerned because the students had nowhere to put their materials and the chairs didn't really fit into my theme. So I splurged on these stools. They were on sale and I got a bit of an extra discount...they are worth every penny!!!!
I would love to hear what you think! Do you think my classroom is Stemtastic? Happy School Year Everyone!
